What jobs will this program prepare me for?
While a one-day first aid course won’t qualify you for a medical professional role on its own, it provides a strong foundation for various careers in healthcare and other fields where first aid knowledge can be an asset. Here’s how this course can serve as a stepping stone, along with some additional training options to consider:
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): EMTs provide emergency medical care and transport patients to hospitals. Most EMT programs require first aid/CPR certification as a prerequisite, along with additional training in areas like administering medication and operating medical equipment.
Paramedic: Paramedics provide advanced life support in emergency situations. Paramedic training programs typically require prior EMT certification and in-depth training in areas like medication administration, starting IVs, and advanced airway management.
Lifeguard: Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of swimmers at beaches, pools, and water parks. Most lifeguarding certifications require first aid/CPR certification, along with swimming and water rescue skills.
